It is one of the 33 barangays of San Nicolas, Pangasinan. Actually pwede kang makarating dito by foot pero according to my friends, it will take twelve hours as in kalahating araw para makarating. Interesting fact about Malico is that it is too far from the town proper and it will take an hour or two para lang makarating dito at dadaan ka pa sa dalawang provinces (Nuevas Ecija and Vizcaya).
Sabi nila malamig daw dito (colder than Baguio City) and mas mataas siya (compare to Baguio).
I was so happy that I was able to visit Malico during the 2010 National Elections campaign. Though we arrived late (10PM), it was so cold that we even installed a tent inside the classroom. The hospitality of the people here is so warm and they will make you feel talaga na mga kababayan mo sila despite the fact na napakalayo na nila. Actually they are closer to the town proper of Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.
When I woke up the following morning, the view was breathtaking! May mga broccoli at cauliflower silang mga tanim, ang linis nung place at napaka-disiplinado ng mga tao. I will attach some of our pictures taken in Malico, this was around April 2010.
How to get there? If you own a private car, take Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya at magtanong na lang kayo pagdating ninyo doon. If you are adventurous, pwede by foot via Barangay Fianza at dadaan kayo ng Kulangew. Yun na! You can stay in one of the classrooms complete with toilet just make sure na magdala ng garbage bag kasi nakakahiya ang magkalat doon.
